    Victorian Mourning brown Hair Plated Ornate Oval Brooch. Woven Hair Pattern Under Glass in Brooch Keepsake. Measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/8.
    Victorians took their mourning very seriously. These weave & hair works of art were often sent out to professionals to make. Pendant is circa 1870.
    This is reversible & you can wear either side face forward. Or spin it as many times during the day as you wish, without taking it off. Cameo arrived to me with broken brooch clasp. I smoothed to flat & added bail at top & gold tone necklace at no additional charge. It was impractical as a brooch only. In order to flip it you had to remove it ,flip & clasp again.
